Matthew Carey, MCD, CCC-SLP is an experienced speech language pathologist at HQHT known for his depth of knowledge, thoughtful approach, and commitment to high quality patient care.


Matthew Carey, MCD, CCC-SLP is a skilled speech language pathologist who brings a diverse and extensive clinical background to High Quality Home Therapy. He earned his Master of Communication Disorders from Arkansas State University and has a strong foundation in both clinical practice and the arts, with advanced studies in music from institutions including Oberlin Conservatory and the University of Michigan.

Matthew has experience working across a variety of settings including inpatient rehabilitation hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, outpatient clinics, and home health. He has treated individuals with a wide range of diagnoses including cognitive and language disorders, dementia, post stroke conditions, traumatic brain injuries, swallowing disorders, autism, and voice disorders. He works with both adult and pediatric populations, providing comprehensive and individualized care.

At High Quality Home Therapy, Matthew provides evaluation and treatment in the clinic, in patients’ homes, and through telehealth services. He collaborates closely with interdisciplinary teams to develop effective care plans, functional maintenance programs, and discharge planning that support long term success and independence.

Matthew is certified in Neuromuscular Electrical Stimulation and Myofascial Release Therapy, allowing him to incorporate advanced techniques into his treatment approach, particularly for individuals with swallowing and neuromuscular conditions. His clinical approach is thoughtful, thorough, and focused on helping each patient achieve meaningful improvements in communication and quality of life.
