Richard Boehmcke

Richard Boehmcke, NBC-HWC, NASM-CPT is a warm, motivating, and deeply knowledgeable Health and Wellness Coach at HQHT whose rare ability to combine evidence-based behavior change methodology with genuine human connection shines through in everything he does.

Richard came to health and wellness coaching through a career path that is as unique as it is compelling. After years of leading high-performing teams in the technology and SaaS world, where he developed a leadership style rooted in accountability, consistency, and sustainable performance, he found his true calling in helping people transform their health from the inside out. He founded his own coaching practice, Turtle Patience, and has been dedicated to whole-person wellness ever since.

Richard earned his Bachelor of Arts in Interpersonal and Organizational Communication from Arizona State University and completed the Duke University Health and Well-Being Coach Professional Training Program, one of the most respected evidence-based coaching programs in the country. He is a National Board-Certified Health and Wellness Coach (NBC-HWC) and a NASM Certified Personal Trainer (CPT), two credentials that reflect both the depth and the breadth of his expertise.

Richard's coaching experience spans individual and group settings across some of the most diverse populations imaginable. Through his role at Wellable he facilitates up to five live virtual group coaching sessions per day covering weight management, nutrition, stress, sleep, and physical activity. He also trains clients in person at Ignite Fitness in Avon, CT, where he works with 30 semi-private clients weekly on personalized strength, functional, and mobility programming. He has a particular specialty in supporting clients who are using GLP-1 medications, providing integrated coaching across exercise, nutrition, mindset, and behavioral habit formation to help them achieve lasting results.

Richard is certified through the National Board for Health and Wellness Coaching, NASM, and holds current CPR/AED certification. He is also trained in motivational interviewing, a technique he uses to help clients build self-directed strategies that outlast initial motivation and lead to real, sustainable change.

Richard is the kind of coach who meets you exactly where you are, without judgment, without pressure, and with a genuine belief that every person has the capacity to build a healthier, more fulfilling life. His warmth, his humor, and his extraordinary ability to make complex wellness concepts feel simple and achievable make him an incredible addition to the HQHT team.
