Diana Alvarado, COTA is a dedicated and resourceful Occupational Therapy Assistant at HQHT whose bilingual abilities, patient-centered approach, and years of hands-on experience shine through in everything she does.
Diana came to HQHT with a rich and varied background in occupational therapy spanning skilled nursing facilities, home health, outpatient clinics, and rehabilitation settings across Connecticut. She has spent her career working alongside patients with a wide range of diagnoses, always bringing a calm, optimistic, and highly adaptable presence to every session.
She earned her Associate Degree in Occupational Therapy from Lincoln College of New England in Southington, CT, building a strong clinical foundation that she has continued to grow throughout her career.
Diana's clinical experience is extensive. She has worked with adult and geriatric populations across settings including Elara Caring Home Health Services, Tender Touch Rehab Services, Encore Rehabilitation, Preferred Therapy Solutions, and Apple Rehab, among others. She is especially skilled in helping patients improve their independence with activities of daily living, implementing adaptive equipment, fall prevention strategies, and home exercise programs.
Diana is fully bilingual in English and Spanish, which allows her to connect with and serve a broader range of patients and families. She is known for her critical thinking, her patience, and her ability to adapt quickly in fast-changing environments.
She is a true team player with excellent personal communication skills and a genuinely optimistic spirit that makes every patient feel supported and motivated throughout their recovery journey. Diana is proud to be part of the HQHT family and brings her whole heart to every home she walks into.
