Carolyn B. Finch, MS, SLP, is truly one-of-a-kind Speech-Language Pathologist at HQHT whose decades of clinical wisdom, captivating presence, and boundless passion for human communication and health shine through in everything she does.


Carolyn's journey in speech-language pathology spans over five decades and reads like a masterclass in dedication to the field. From founding her own speech pathology practice to running one of Connecticut's first schools to mainstream children with challenges, she has spent her career blazing trails and changing lives in ways that few clinicians ever do.

Carolyn earned her Bachelor of Science in Speech Pathology and Early Childhood Development from Elmira College and her Master of Science in Speech Communication and Early Childhood Education from Western Connecticut State University. She went on to pursue doctoral studies in both Early Childhood Education and Adult Education Studies at Nova Southeastern University, reflecting a lifelong commitment to learning that has never slowed down.

Her clinical experience is extraordinarily broad. Carolyn has worked with patients from preschool through geriatric across healthcare centers, schools, early intervention programs, hospitals, and visiting nurse associations throughout Connecticut and beyond. She served as Director and Owner of Speech Pathology Associates in Danbury, where she established 18 contracts and led a team of seven speech therapists, and founded speech and language programs for Danbury and New Milford Hospitals. She has also held faculty positions at Western Connecticut State University, Post University, and Naugatuck Valley Community College, where she taught everything from Speech Communications to Early Childhood Development.

Carolyn holds a remarkable collection of certifications and specializations including Certified Neuro-Linguistic Programming, Cranial Sacral Training, Oral Motor and Myofascial Release, Brain Gym Instructor licensure, Applied Kinesiology, Reflexology, and ongoing Nutrition Certification through Standard Process. She is a published author of multiple books and programs including a multi-sensory articulation therapy program, a sign communication system for speech-challenged individuals, and her newest book on body language and health.

She has been recognized as a Connecticut Business and Professional Woman of the Year, a Golden Apple Teacher Award recipient, a National Speakers Association Connecticut Chapter Past President and Member of the Year, and has been listed in Who's Who of American Women, Who's Who of International Women, and Who's Who in Medicine and Health Care for decades.
