Amanda Meyer, MS, OTR/L is a highly experienced Occupational Therapist at High Quality Home Therapy, bringing over a decade of advanced clinical expertise across acute care, inpatient rehabilitation, and home-based settings. She is deeply committed to helping individuals regain independence, function, and confidence following complex medical events.
Amanda earned her Bachelor of Science in Rehabilitation and Disability Studies and Master of Science in Occupational Therapy from Springfield College. She currently serves as an OT Educator at Hartford Hospital, where she treats patients across all levels of care—including ICU, step-down, and acute medical-surgical units—with a focus on neurological, trauma, cardiac, and medically complex conditions. In her educator role, Amanda leads staff orientation and onboarding, annual competencies, regulatory compliance, and evidence-based practice initiatives.
Previously, Amanda held key leadership and research roles at Gaylord Specialty Healthcare, where she worked extensively with individuals recovering from traumatic brain injury, stroke, spinal cord injury, and ventilator-dependent conditions. As a Level III Therapist, Team Leader, and Inpatient Research Coordinator, she played an integral role in advancing innovative rehabilitation practices and outcomes-driven care.
Amanda’s passion for evidence-based practice is reflected in her extensive research involvement and national presentations. She has served as a primary and co-investigator on multiple clinical research studies, including pioneering work on post-stroke balance recovery, COVID-19 rehabilitation outcomes, and the development of a novel occupational therapy cognitive screening tool. Her work has been published in leading peer-reviewed journals, including the American Journal of Occupational Therapy, and presented at national conferences.
In addition to her clinical and research accomplishments, Amanda is an invited speaker, professional mentor, and active member of the American Occupational Therapy Association. She has been recognized for her excellence in care as a two-time ICARE Employee of the Year nominee.
