Keysa Nieves, MS, OTR is a compassionate and dedicated Occupational Therapist at HQHT whose patience, empathy, and commitment to high-quality care shine through in everything she does.

Keysa brings a strong background in helping people build independence and improve the everyday skills that matter most to them. Across schools, home care, and rehabilitation settings, she has worked with children and adults, always focused on supporting each person’s well-being and day-to-day function.

Keysa earned her Master of Science in Occupational Therapy from Springfield College in 2021 and her Bachelor of Arts in Human Development and Family Studies from the University of Connecticut in 2016.

Her clinical experience spans a wide range of settings. In schools, she has evaluated and treated children with motor and sensory processing delays, working closely with teachers and families to support each student’s goals. In home care, she has treated people dealing with generalized weakness, traumatic brain injury, stroke, cancer, and cognitive challenges, and she has taught patients and caregivers how to carry out their care plans. She has also worked in rehabilitation centers, helping people recover from chronic and acute pain, neurological conditions, and orthopedic injuries, and she has served as a rehab director, leading a team and creating exercise groups, health talks, and monthly events to improve quality of life.

Keysa is a Registered Occupational Therapist and is licensed in Connecticut. She is also certified in adult and pediatric first aid, CPR, and AED. She is fluent in both Spanish and English, which helps her connect with the families she serves.

Keysa’s patience and warmth put people at ease, and she is known for listening closely and communicating clearly. She approaches every session with care and encouragement, and she is proud to be part of the HQHT team.
